Engineering Excellence at the Heart of Modern Energy

Advanced Solutions for a Cleaner, More Reliable Energy Future

At Mountain State Energy Holdings (MSEH), technology is at the core of everything we do. From our flagship Longview Power facility to emerging natural gas and water treatment projects, we apply advanced engineering and data-driven systems to produce cleaner, more efficient, and more reliable energy.

Our approach is simple — use innovation to strengthen the fundamentals.

Mountain State Energy Holdings

Smart Operations. Proven Results.

Our companies use cutting-edge technologies to maximize output, minimize emissions, and maintain exceptional reliability across every system we operate.

AI-Based Control Systems

Intelligent monitoring tools optimize plant performance in real-time — ensuring safe, precise operation while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Advanced Emissions Control

Our facilities feature some of the most comprehensive Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS) in the industry, including:

  • Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for nitrogen oxide removal
  • Wet Flue Gas Desulfurization (WFGD) systems for up to 99.5% sulfur dioxide reduction
  • Pulse Jet Fabric Filters (PJFF) that remove over 99% of particulate matter
  • Hydrated Lime Injection Systems for acid mist control

These systems allow our operations to perform well below federal emissions limits while maintaining high efficiency.

Innovation Driving Smarter Energy Operations

Efficiency That Leads the Industry

Our flagship plant, Longview Power, achieves one of the lowest heat rates in North America — around 8,750 Btu/kWh — setting the standard for clean coal generation.

Combined with high-efficiency turbine systems and continuous optimization, that means less fuel consumed, fewer emissions, and more reliable baseload power for the PJM energy market.

Sustainable Water Management

Sustainable Water Management

We take a closed-loop approach to water use.

Our Longview Power affiliate focuses on an optimized water balance by re-using and retreating both stormwater and process water for recycled use, protecting local waterways from runoff and contamination. The result: cleaner rivers, restored fish habitats, and a model for sustainable industrial water stewardship.

Resource Recovery & Recycling

Our operations turn byproducts into resources.

Gypsum Recycling: A byproduct of emissions control is processed for commercial use in construction materials.

Flyash: A byproduct of combustion process that creates a material as direct replacement of Portland cement utilized in concrete.

The recovery and recycling of gypsum and flyash provide a direct offset of emissions in gypsum mining and portland cement operations providing both an environmental and financial benefit to public.

Powering Progress with a Multi-Fuel Future

Powering Progress with a Multi-Fuel Future

Innovation at MSEH goes beyond coal.

Through Mountain State Clean Energy, we’re developing a combined-cycle natural gas facility that integrates advanced turbine technology to deliver flexible, low-emission power.

Together, these projects position MSEH as a leader in reliable, diversified energy generation — meeting today’s demand while preparing for tomorrow’s grid.

Continuous Improvement

We believe innovation never ends.

From predictive maintenance to next-generation control systems, our engineers and operators continuously seek smarter, cleaner, and more efficient ways to deliver the power that drives our communities and economy.
